2026-27 Dental & Vision Insurance Options
All students – regardless of whether or not they are enrolled in the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Student Health Insurance Plan (NU-SHIP), may enroll in optional dental and/or vision coverage.
Students can choose from two dental plans, a DHMO and a PPO, and a vision PPO plan, offered through Delta Dental of Illinois.
ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Graduate Student Workers: An email is sent directly from the Student Insurance Office during the applicable open enrollment period with a link to the Graduate Student Workers Benefit Plans website. Please follow the directions and link in the email to enroll in the subsidized programs.
Enroll in Dental or Vision Coverage
Two Open Enrollment Periods:
- Fall Open Enrollment: Aug. 1 – Oct. 31, 2026
- 12-month plans (Sept. 1, 2026 – Aug. 31, 2027) and 6-month plans (Sept. 1, 2026 – Feb. 28, 2027) available
- Spring Open Enrollment: Feb. 1 – March 31, 2027
- Only 6-month plans (March 1, 2027 – Aug. 31, 2027) available
